Longmorn 16 OB - 2008 editon  (bottle code LV30509 - bottled 2008/05/13) non-chill filtered - 48% scores whiskybase – 84/531 (default bottle) malt maniacs - no score serge valentin - 88 Longmorn 16 yo (48%, OB, +/- 2009) An earlier batch from 2007 didn’t quite convince me (WF79) so let’s see if this new one is more to my liking. Colour: gold. Nose: rather different from the earlier version I must say, less on straight oak and grass and rather more on Longmorn’s typical fruitiness.

A very nice 12 year old from Macallan distillery. Single Highland Malt sw - 12y - exclusively matured in selected sherry oak casks from Jerez 700ml - 40%  whiskybase: 4031 scores whiskybase – 85/153 malt maniacs - 81/11 serge valentin - 82 Notes are not that spectacular, but if you want to taste the 'old and simple' Macallan before they started the fine oak range, this is your change.
